Outright league title at 9–0 and a 10–1 record

Northampton won the Lehigh Valley League outright at 9–0, its first league title since 1952–53, and finished 10–1 overall; the loss was 28–13 to Hill School. The team beat Easton 33–10 at Easton in a meeting of unbeaten teams and edged Allentown 18–15 on Jan. 30, ending Allentown's 41-meet unbeaten streak with five straight middleweight decisions, three by one point. The 23–19 opening win over Bethlehem came while winning only four of 11 bouts.

Northampton also won the Haverford College tournament with five individual champions. At District XI it placed fourth with 39 points; Fred Heffelfinger (120), Mike Gontar (138) and Tom Chuss (165) were runners-up.
