The season

Northampton repeated as PIAA team champion in 2004, scoring 132.5 points to Easton's 83.5 and putting ten wrestlers on the podium, the most in program history. Terry Daubert was named PIAA Coach of the Year and then National Coach of the Year by the NHSCA.

With three State Champions back in Joey Ecklof, Josh Haines, and Jon Oplinger, the Kids won the Virginia Duals (34–23 over Great Bridge in the final) and the Cedar Cliff Duals, finished 6.5 points behind Blair Academy at the Bethlehem Holiday Classic, and placed 3rd at the Beast of the East. They clinched the Lehigh Valley Conference with a 31–30 win over Easton on Jan. 24 and closed the dual season with a 36–24 win over Nazareth. Their only loss came against Easton, 29–25, in the District XI Duals final.

At the District XI tournament the Kids scored a record 281 points with six champions. They won the Northeast Regional team title with four champions and sent 11 wrestlers to Hershey, where Ecklof (145), Haines (189), and Oplinger (215) all won titles again and seven more Kids placed.
