Julian Chlebove

The story

Julian Chlebove is one of Northampton's three-time State Champions, winning PIAA Class AAA titles at 113 (2016), 120 (2017), and 132 (2019).

He won his first as a freshman, going 43–2, which put him on the school's single-season wins list. He beat Nazareth's Ryan O'Grady 7–1 for the District XI title and 6–5 for the Northeast Regional title, then won four straight at Hershey: Aidan Burke of Council Rock North 4–0, Logan Macri of Canon-McMillan 5–1, Devin Schnupp of Warwick 8–1 in the semifinal, and Matt Parker of Pennridge 3–0 in the final. As a sophomore he went 37–1, losing only to New Jersey's Nick Raimo. He beat Liberty's Luke Werner 9–2 in both the district and regional finals, did not give up a point in his first three state matches, and majored Werner 13–3 in an all-District XI state final.

He did not wrestle in the 2017–18 postseason, then came back as a senior and went 49–3, the school record for wins in a season, wrestling at 132 and 138. He pinned Bethlehem Catholic's Kenny Herrmann in the district final and beat him 9–2 in the regional final. At Hershey he pinned Hayden Butterfield of Erie McDowell, teched Michael Cassidy of Cedar Cliff, edged Sam Hillegas of North Hills 2–1 in the semifinal, and beat Herrmann 6–2 in the final, his fifth win over Herrmann that season. He lost only six matches in his career and finished with 130 wins.
